Kid, I don't even know why you would check this out. You knew this wasn't going to be your cup of tea. From all the praise that has been dished out about this flick, you should have been able to deduce that this would not be for you. At least you got it pretty cheap!! I wish I had paid that price!

As for myself, I personally love this movie. My praise comes not from the "ghost" factor, or it's ability to supersize my brain as I have read from the flame war going on, but from the fact that it is an extremely well made movie. From start to finish it doesn't rush things, it just allows the story to run it's course. Too many movies suffer from what I like to call "show me now, worry later" syndrome. This movie took it's time and was all the better for it. Great movie with multiple views in mind.

I recommend this to anyone that I think would like it. I would never recommend this to Kidd, because I know him and this isn't his cup of tea. Give him a more traditional horror film, which isn't a bad thing, and that isn't a slam whatsoever. This movie is geared more toward those that like to pick apart films, and hold discussions about them afterward. If this is what you consider "wanting to prove your smarter" mr Will, then so be it. I love shitburger films as much as the next guy, and pry more than you, but I can appreciate something as well done as this film and not get my dick all tied in a knot. I wish people would get over themselves and just talk about the film.

Obviously if you want to talk about the movie in depth that means that you are trying to prove your intelligence rather than the movie offering something to actually discuss...

Great post Bishop. I agree with most of what you said. I do agree this is a very well made film. The atmosphere was creepy at times, the acting was good, and it was very stylistic. But those things are not as high on my list than obviously alot of people in this thread. I appreciate movies that entertain me. I don't want to watch a movie and then debate with other internet movie geeks the hidden messages and mysterious scenes for weeks on end. If people who do feel like they are smarter than the rest, then so be it. Pat yourself on the backs all high and mighty rocket scientists.

If I knew this was going to be another Mulholland Drive psychobabble artsy fartsy flick I would never have bought it (like Bishop said). Well, I didn't know. I expected something like Ringu or The Grudge with a different spin. It didn't happen and contrary to the geniuses who think they nailed every single scene as 100% fact the first time watching it, my inferior caveman brain came to several of the same conclusions. But unlike you, I'm not entertained by sitting around after the credits roll and wondering if what I thought happened really happened. That's not entertaining, that's annoying.

My fav Asian horror flicks are still Ringu, Verses, and Battle Royale. A Tale of Two Sisters? You egomaniacal Einsteins can keep that shit and remain on your intellectual high horses.
