Default Candyman (1992)

I just checked out this flick last night for the first all the way through. The movie had a slow pace, and was boring in a few spots. I thought the acting was good: Virginia Madson was a strong lead and Tony Todd was effectively creepy as the Candyman. The urban setting looked pretty good too and Bernard Rose's direction, although nothing spectacular, sported a few cool shots. The gore was very good, and the soundtrack went along well with what was going on.

I thought it was a good movie... 8/10

Anyone else's thoughts?

One of my all time favorite movies, this is the only movie to really scare me as a kid.

Eh, candyman never did it for me. Yeah, it's freaky to think there' something lurking and all you have to do is call it's name 3 times, but after the first billion deaths by hook i was looking for something a little more...good story tho

This movie is great. I saw it when It first came out when I was like 7 or 8. Badass flick, the sequels arent so good... unfortunatly.

I think the movie sucks balls, and I even pass it up on cable even if im bored and its the only thing on I would rather watch the Golden Girls to be honest ( Blanch is a granny/mommy what ever I would have probably banged ), fuck that movie, but Tony todd is ok, well he was in Night of the living Dead remake, I guess thats it.

You say that as if watching The Golden Girls would be a bad thing at all...

*puts in disc 2 of season 4*

I like Tony Todd. He's done some memorable characters over the years. Most of the movies he's been in are complete shite, but I definitely don't consider Candyman to be one of them.

I liked the first one alot. The others were boring and lacked that feel the first film had.
