I would take his involvement as meaning that the film will be in Norweigian - is it a definate bout the English? I'd hate this film to be in English or CGI.
Would it kill them to push for Rob Bottin to reprise his special effects?
It's a shared credit. Moore was rewritten.

Kind of surprised people actually expected them to make this film in Norwegian. Welcome to Hollywood.

It's actually pretty offensive. A few college friends and I hung out last week, buying books for our new semester, and we started discussing movies hitting the box office. We then started discussing horror movies because Daybreakers was comming out and I said one of my favorites was The Omen. One guy responds with, "Dude, that film is old."

Apparently the idea is that if a movie is old, one shouldn't like it. Why? Because it's "old." As in not new.

It gets worse.

He thought I was tlaking about the remake. He couldn't even possibly comprehend one could like a film from the 70s. I found this out because he said, "Dude, that old movie with the guy from 'Wolverine'? Ugh!"

I hit back with a, "No, dude, the masterpiece with Gregory Peck."

He responded with a, “Whatever, grandpa.”

I wanted to say, “I’m younger than you; you just have no respect for cinema,” but I dropped it. It wouldn’t be of any use.

It's infuriating, isn't it. You just can't educate people like that when it comes to cinema.

I agree, it's an insult to hate classic cinema due to reasons like "It's old" or "it has subtitles" Some people these days neglect the classics where horror begun, which is a pity.

I personally love John Carpenter's The Thing remake, but I also love the black and white The Thing From Another World (1951). As far as The Thing prequel, I'm not so sure, but I guess if they got the right director and a great plot line maybe it would be ok. But nothing can come close to the tense atmosphere of John Carpenter's The Thing.

I was never a big fan of the original, I rather the remake a lot more.

I know what you mean. It's black and white, and it's old.
