I didn't think the acting, direction or the story itself were all that interesting. I also found the actor that played Ray Pye to be kind of an annoyance. Nothing much happens until the very end, and by then I was almost completely tuned out.

Big fan of Jack Ketchum's books. I have only watched RED because I have been busy and have not finished The Lost and don't want to watch the movie until after I have finished the book. I felt RED was a great film and a perfect gate way movie into horror as well as the book. Where the story starts out very horror and turns into a drama perfect for getting friends into the genre.

Jack Ketchum succeeds with what Shaun Hutson has failed so many times.

Yes... Just finished watching it and holy wowzer. Very highly recommended. Though it could be argued whether it is horror or not, either way it makes it to both top horror list as well as top movie for 2008 list.

The Girl Next Door is probably the only movie to really get under my skin and disturb me...

I wasn't a fan of The Lost though, but might have to sit through it again...

Haven't read any of the books though... When I back into my reading phase I will have to track em down.

You should. I just saw Red. I recommend it and I think you should give The Lost a chance too

The Lost,The Girl Next Door and Red are all fantastic films. Also all 3 are to a "T" in accordenance to the book. My favorite of the 3 is RED though, such a fantastic film.
