Anyone here a Jack Ketchum fan?
I was amazed by the movies based on his books 'The Lost' and 'The Girl Next Door' They played at some festival circuits. These films were so well done and the casts were excellent. Especially Blanche Baker and Marc Senter. Truly frightening! The Girl Next Door is based on a true story and is a complete nightmare. It was hard to sit through actually. So powerful, disturbing and tragic. The Lost is on my list of favourites. They really affected me after watching them. I'm curious to hear other peoples opinions on these |

Find some way to see Red. By far his best adaptation.

I have seen both The Lost and Girl Next Door. They are so brutal and in your face and sometimes it's hard to watch. They are almost like tests. The blow torch to the vagina is the worst. The performances in both movies are amazing. As for the Lost, I sat there and I dont think I blinked once, the main character and his name slips my mind at the moment is such a disturbing man. In the book though he is far worse if thats possible.

His name is Marc Senter and he played the role or Ray Pye..and I agree it was hard to look away.
He really did a fantastic job and hopefully he will choose more good roles and get some more recognition as a talented actor. |

I haven't read any of Ketchum's books yet, but The Girl Next Door movie is, in my opinion, the most disturbing movie ever made. I've never felt for a character the way I felt for Meg in that movie. What happened to her still haunts me to this day.
I thought The Lost movie was horrible, but I still plan on reading the book one day. |
