Alright, smart guy...luckily I am of the collective who pays the remake of a favorite film no mind. Basically, I don't care. I mean, the're already remaking my favorite movie (ANOES) and I am bothered not one bit. I'll always have the (almost unanimously) superior orginals. Yeah it's kinda sad that the current generation will see this and probably know nothing about the original. But that's there problem, not mine.

I will say, however, that a remake of Maniac would certainly lacking the grime that could only be produced in 1970's NYC. You can alomst come to view it as something of a period piece. It's not a movie that would fare well if updated. And yes, this is my opinion, but Joe Spinell makes that movie...having a new Frank Zito would just be fucking weird.

I don't think Maniac will but A Nightmare on Elm Street certainly has a chance depending on the director.

Personally I don't care if this movie gets re-made or not. But I can't see it with out Joe Spinnel as Frank Zito or the speacial effects and makeup of Tom Savini.
