The things that happen are predictable because you already know there will be twists due to the nature of of the type of story and the only logical twists that could happen DO!

It doesn't take Sherlock fucking Holmes to figure that the friend is making the phone calls and that the real killer will put in an appearance eventually.

The fact that the killer kills the friend instead of the main broad or that the main broad kills the killer are hardly big surprises either.

It's just a filler story with no tension or surprises.

I never ever would have guessed that her lesbian friend was making the calls though I do agree it was obvious that the escaped guy would turn up at the end. I think it was obvious the friend was going to die but up until the end I thought the main woman would die aswell... but she didn't. I still don't think it's all that predictable.

Black Sunday is pretty damned near perfect...got my vote, but I loved Twitch, Blood and Black Lace and Danger D!

Well, with every circumstance there was pretty much only 2 directions it could go. Either the friend lives or dies by the killer, either the main woman lives or kills/escapes the killer, and neither would be a surprise as they are both easy to expect.

I don't blame Bava as a director for the faults so much as the basic plotting of it. The direction was as good as anyone could do without making a complete overhaul of the story.

It's an adequate time killer that pales to the other two stories.

On another note I don't really see why Black Sunday gets all of the respect. Many critics hail Black Sunday as one of the best horror films ever yet then snub the rest of his catalog... I don't really understand that. It's good and recieves 9/10 from me but I just think he made better films.

4. The Girl Who Knew Too Much

After watching Black Sabbath a countless number of times admittedly The Wurdalak has overtaken The Telephone for me. Though I'd still give all of the segments 5/5.
