I didn't think of it as boring, I was interested all the way, that's just me, I knew Miike was going to throw some weird shit in there, I was just waiting for when, didn't know when it was going to happen. There are certain directors that use many elements in their films to allure the audience, Miike is def. one Director that you have to go back and watch...because there is stuff at play all over that you might have missed.

One of my favourite horror movies of all time; Audition is unique, daring, chilling, beautiful and brutal at the same time,a difficult achievement in horror but Miike pulls it off!

Audition makes a social statement and makes you sick and rewards you with something new with each view!

Just watched this around an hour ago and there is still a prominent feeling in my gut. What an amazing unsettling film. While the first hour and a half or so is rather slow and uneventful, it's still kept entertaining with interesting dialog. But that last half an hour or so was so intense and just all around wonderful. I felt as though I had stepped into some terrible nightmare and was being tortured myself.

I too struggled to find a reason to continue watching the sigh that was Audition's first half. No man should endure such torture.

It was very slow for that first half. But I have to say it kept me interested for some reason. I think it had to do with the top notch directing, dialog, and acting. I'm not saying it was good by any means, but it was bearable. I'd say the last half made up for it.
