SubSpecies - BLOODY-DISGUSTING

Just wondering what everyone thought of the franchise. I got the Australian Box set a week or so ago (It comes with parts one through four and Vampire Journals). It's especially cheesy, yet for some reason, I can't stop watching it. Thoughts?

I got a kick out of it. Good goofey fun, and all. I only caught the first one. How did the story progress in the sequals?

The last film was disappionting. I heard there was supposed to be a fifth film years back, what happened?

Well, since you asked:

*SPOILERS*

Michelle's sister comes to rescue her from Radu, after he kills Stefan. They spend part two and three doing this. However, Radu has an accomplice, his witch mother. The sister and her friend, a guy from the US embassy, end up dying at the beginning of part four from a car crash and a woman finds Michelle's body at the crash site and brings it to a hospital. There, a mysterious doctor, who is really a vampire, tries to cure her and keep her safe from Radu. Radu and his mother end up dying. And Michelle runs off with the nurse who found her at the crash site.

*END SPOILERS*

The first two were my favorite, I thought it was kinda got boring in the third part. And, while the fourth part was better than the third, it still wasn't that great. Vampire Journals, which features some of the characters from the fourth movie, is included in the set and is actually quite good.

I think if you include Vampire Journals in the series (Which I think you should because it features some of the same characters), you have five films. Maybe that is what they were talking about.

HIGHLY underrated franchise and the best film series that Full Moon Entertainment ever did. Outside of Dracula, I would say that Subspecies has the greatest vampire character in movie history.

The box-set is well worth the $$$

I agree it is underrated....the first two are great, the last one's I am not as crazy about but I love these films
