Yea I hear what you mean, I still get them from Wildstorm when I can seeing i'm a huge TCM fan but a writer who just writes horror would be a better fit for sure.

I like the last Halloween series to come out cause Jeff Zornow art is amazing haha, I think be better just to have one published with all the horror movie comics together an have a team that is 100% horror working on them.

I like what BOOM is doing with the 28days later series the guys on the comics actually work along side with the guys from the movies to get a right feel an setting for the comic, so thats a big plus for me

I got the first issue of 28 Days, but haven't picked-up anymore. I need to get caught up. I like the way it's drawn. Has the dark errie feel to it.

I have to disagree completely. The Avatar New Line horror books bordered on unreadable. The Wildstorm ones were great, the Friday The 13th one by Palimiotti and Gray the all star of the line up. Freddy, sadly, being the weakest.

I also wouldn't discount super hero writers as being bad at horror, with guys such as Robert Kirkman and Geoff Johns more than proving their worth. Grant Morrison has had his share of good, creepy tales, such as Arkham Asylum: A Serious House On Serious Earth.

These are Horror icons. They are seen in a different light.
You truly can't believe that stories like "Bad Lands and "About a boy" was better than the Avatar stuff.
The Avatar stuff was stayed true to the characters with it's gore and brutal factor. While the Wildstorm stuff was like reading re-makes of the characters.
No different than re-makes of the movies.
Avatat was the original and Wildstorm was the re-make versions.

Kirkman started with being famous because of "Walking Dead"
Johns really hasen't done anything new with "BN". DC has been ressurecting dead heroes for years.
Morrison started out writing non-super-hero stories.

If you break it down. Kirtman and Morrison were horror/suspense writers who later did super-heroes

I liked the Avatar/New Line books I found them very enjoyable but thats me each has his/her own likes dislikes.

But you are right Kirkman is a good horror writer, take the living dead it's awesome an Johns an morrison arn't that bad either but with someone who just writes horror I personally think they would want to do a better job in putting out a better book cause they like the characters & the gerne, I've seens ome people just want to do it cause they know people like horror stuff an wanted to make money of it an hated horror in general, those type suck haha

I think Johns has definitely proven his horror chops with Blackest Night and with some of the villains he's created for Flash, in specific Murmur. That's one creepy villain.

yea you have a point for sure, but to me thats a differnet type of horror, thats more of a superhero horror, then a slasher gory horror which I personally think takes someone differnet to write that style. Sure he can probably write it not saying he can't just to me it's two differnet types of horrors

Good point.
They may look like the undead, but they sure don't act like it.
Marvel zombies and "BN" zombies are just dead-looking super-heroes. They talk and have powers. Not really true Horror stuff.

Damn dude. You get a little bit of everything.
I just stick to Star Wars, my favorite artist (Jae Lee), and good storylines. (BN-BD) And of course. True Horror comics.

Lost intrest in Marvel. It just seem that they never stick to anything. How many times have they done Avengers the past few years. It just seems about every other month they come out with an issue 1 and start over

Actually, and believe me it pains me to defend Marvel in any way, shape or form after what they've done with Spidey over the past couple of years, the new number 1 actually do mean something. Like when the original Avengers were shut down in Disassembled, it was the logical end to that era of Avengers. Then New Avengers started up a new era, and that book grew spinoffs like original did, but logical ones. Like post Civil War, the New Avengers became the outlaw Avengers and two new Avengers books were added, the Government approved Avengers team in Mighty Avengers, and a book about the government training program headed up by some former Avengers in Avengers: The Initiative. Now that era is done and we have three new teams. The Avengers, which is the classic, no nonsense, biggest threat team, The Secret Avengers; black ops, and the relaunched New Avengers, dealing with weirder crimes and things like that.

God it really pained me to defend Marvel right then. Really it did.
