I plan on taking a trip there next year.

This is the second installment in the series and rarely do I find a series of books that I find myself so obsessed with that I have to have the next installment asap price be damned. I have loved following this series so far.

Modern Diesel Technology. (cost me $130) I'd rather read Bauldelaire.

Definitely funnier and snarkier than the first two Dex books, but I just don't buy into all the mysticism of his Dark Passenger or the

kids being prodigal Dexters

The Twelfth Card by Jeffery Deaver (Book 6 in the Lincoln Rhyme series)

I really like how this book dealt with both an investigation of a crime that was well over 100 years old as well as a hunt in the present for a very creepy hitman. Thompson Boyd is one of the series' better villains, although I think my favorite is still The Conjurer from The Vanished Man.

The Kill Room by Jeffery Deaver (Book 10 in the Lincoln Rhyme series)

This was a pretty timely narrative, as it dealt with concerns over the government targeting American citizens abroad. Given that the main characters Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs normally go after serial killers and hitmen in their other books, it was a little weird to see them go after a government agency. As for the book's villain, I thought Gourmet chef/assassin Jacob Swann was pretty creepy, especially considering that he used the same knife for cooking and killing. I do think he could have been fleshed out a little bit more. Some background is given, but not enough to explain what made him so uber patriotic/sadistic. As for the book's ending, I think there might have been one twist too many. Also, Lincoln Rhyme makes a decision at the end of the novel that I'm not sure how I feel about, as I'm wondering how it will affect future books in the series (At least I hope there are future books). Nevertheless, overall this was a very good summer read.

I'm currently waiting for The Cold Moon to arrive at the library so I can re-read books 7-9 in the series.

I am currently reading Del Toro's The Strain. I read an issue of the comic and really liked it and I found the book in a dollar store and thought I would give it a go....I am enjoying it so far.

Thank Cthulhu The Dark at the End is the last Repairman Jack novel before Nightworld. The series became regurgitated drivel the last few books.

And instead of making the series fit Nightworld, Wilson re-wrote Nightworld to fit the Jack series. What a cashcow-milking pile of bullshit. No way I'm re-buying a book I read 20 years ago.
