The Light is the Darkness by Laird Barron.....I've heard good things about him. This one started a little slow but picked up nicely.

It might be that with a film someone visualizes the scenes for you, however, with a book, your mind visualizes the scene.

The book was well written however, the chapters and paragraphs are small.
God yes that movie is graphic in EVERY detail, it was like the real guy set up a camera and you were watching what really happened.

Dreamcatcher by Stephen King

great book. I play on rereading many more King novels in the near future.

Currently reading this and it's great so far. Definitely would recommend it to any one who is into fantasy.

Quote:
In a faraway land where members of the royal family are named for the virtues they embody, one young boy will become a walking enigma.

Born on the wrong side of the sheets, Fitz, son of Chivalry Farseer, is a royal bastard, cast out into the world, friendless and lonely. Only his magical link with animals - the old art known as the Wit - gives him solace and companionship. But the Wit, if used too often, is a perilous magic, and one abhorred by the nobility.

So when Fitz is finally adopted into the royal household, he must give up his old ways and embrace a new life of weaponry, scribing, courtly manners; and how to kill a man secretly, as he trains to become a royal assassin

Just finished Mockingjay (Final book in The Hunger Games) and absolutely loved it!

I'm now starting The Traveling Vampire Show by Richard Laymon...

Although the plot and characters are ridiculous, it's a fast-paced, exciting and entertaining read.
