I have finished The Night Eternal by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan – To be honest and it pains me to report it, but I was a little disappointed by the conclusion to this epic saga that began so strongly. It felt rushed to me and I found the change of pace to be jarring. Origins of the ancients are revealed but I really wish they hadn’t been given what they came up with.
Now reading Highways To Hell by Bryan Smith – When you have read a lot of horror fiction it is great to discover a refreshingly original voice like Bryan’s and I have been looking forward to diving into this collection of his short fiction for some time.

I think I was going to try to say something to him at one point, but I couldn't remember his name. I still don't remember what it is. I just call him 'short white guy who thinks he's black' to my friends. |

I haven't read Coville in years. God, I need to go back. I used to love the Magic shop series. I'm currently reading "Brass Verdict" by Michael Connelly. I have a little stack of books in the corner of the room from the used bookstore. Bought "American Psycho" for $4.90.

I've recently read: Room by Emma Donoghue, Wastelands (apocolyptic antho), and Fluke by James Herbert (that kids movie about the guy who turns into a dog... turns out its a fairly adult novel).

Fluke was a shit movie but the book was pretty good. Back when Herbert still knew how to write.

I'm almost finished with Roger Ebert's "I Hated, Hated, Hated This Movie," a compendium of some of his classic bad reviews. I rarely, if ever, agree with Ebert's views on films but I love the way the guy writes.
Once I'm done with this one I have his next volume of bad reviews, "Your Movie Sucks," on hold at the local library.

I think the only other books I want to read of his are the Rats trilogy. I can't recall anything else of his that struck me as enjoyable.
