Default The Leftovers (HBO series)

Starring Justin Theroux and Christopher Eccleston, and based on the Tom Perrotta book of the same name, The Leftovers takes place three years after a Rapture-like global event causes millions of people to simply disappear from the face of the Earth.

Stephen King calls Perrotta's novel "the best Twilight Zone episode you never saw." Perrotta, best known as the author of Election and Little Children, will serve as executive producer; Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) directed the pilot.

Oh, and somebody named Damon Lindelof is the head writer/showrunner btw.

Anyone else going to be watching this this weekend? I haven't read the book, but I love me some Lindelof - no shamesies.

I'm in. Unabashed Lindelof fan as well, and HBO puts out quality content.

Will be watching. Lindelof's heavy involvement worries me but everything else I've seen and read suggests this will be great.

HBO stays winning!

I actually picked up the book ages ago. The premise is interesting enough that I will have to try to read it and before the show starts.

HBO is a sign of sure fire win but not the hugest Lindelof fan so it could be a mixed bag, but will definitely give it a go.

Looks very interesting.

Consider me interested!

I enjoyed the cover of sounds of silence and I enjoy Peter's direction so I'll probably give it a go.

Gonna download it tomorrow and check it out.

I watched an extended trailer and now I'm kinda iffy on it.

The critics seem iffy on it too. The reception has been mostly positive but even the fans of it seem unsure of what it's trying to be or where it's going to go.

I'll be watching tomorrow
