When they said they were going to do a Hostel 3 I was pumped. Then when they announded it would take place in the US, I knew it would suck. The secret formula was having it take place in the shitholes of Europe. That's what they should have done and brought back Jedi...

Scott Spiegel is a "one hit wonder" IMO. The other two films of his I've seen, From Dusk Till Dawn 2 and Hostel III, have been disappointing, especially his Hostel sequel.

One of my favorite things about Intruder was all the kooky camera angles he came up with. He used them quite a bit in Dawn 2 as well.

He very rarely used them in Hostel III. The energy and fun of Intruder was entirely missing in it. Even though I'm not a big fan of it you could tell Dusk Till Dawn 2 was a Scott Spiegel film.

Hostel III could have been directed by anyone. It was so bland and unappealing.

If that's all missing in Hostel 3 then my interest drops to zero.

Me and my mates actually liked Dusk til Dawn 2 when we were teenagers although I might think differently with a rewatch. The camerawork was definitely cool though with it being a moving fan and inside a cow skull etc.

This is Copper. Our rescue dog at work. She's 4 years old and a great dog.

And she could represent Elite Hunt Club well. F'ing kick ass.

That pay off from Sony entertainment must be nice
I do remember you talking shit about B-D and Dread Central for their reviews on it back then

Good. I hate that we even acknowledged its existence in this thread.

I also remember some of the bigger horror sites giving Hostel 3 pretty good reviews. Apart from a couple cool scenes I thought the film was absolute garbage. Despite my hate of Cannibal Holocaust for the animal scenes (sorry I'm an animal lover and cannot forgive those awful scenes), I am really excited about "The Green Inferno". I've always thought the whole cannibal genre was interesting and hope this film is somewhat like the novel "Tribesmen" by Adam Cesare. It's a wonderful, short little novel that I read on a plane to Maine. I'm hoping The Green Inferno will be good.

Hostel 3 was the definition of forgettable. It wasn't good, it wasn't offensively bad but it was instantly forgotten the moment it ended. It didn't feel like the other two movies at all and I think a large part of that had to with the fact it wasn't set in Europe. It kind of felt like a Hostel rip off that was reworked into the series to earn a bit more cash.

I don't love the series but weirdly I like Hostel 2 more than 1.

Cannibal movies don't get much love these days so I'm cautiously optimistic for The Green Inferno.
