this film has a huge cult following but iv brought it up in converstaions and not one person has a clue about it

I just got this movie. but i have never seen the sequel Heavy Metal 2000. Is it any good?

Gave your youth away. This was one of THE midnight movies before the internet took off. With a few friends and a big bag of popcorn, you were guaranteed a contact buzz.

South Park references it in Major Boobage.

No, sadly, the sequel isn't nearly as good. Not unwatchable though.
