Not surprised at all. Was most of the criticism towards Depp playing Jack Sparrow yet again?

This movie looks like utter shit. Oh and why must Disney keep casting Johnny Depp.... the man's not even Native American.

From what I understand Johnny Depp's performance is one of the saving graces. Apparently the movie is an unfocused utter mess of ideas that never come together.

That's what I'm reading. A bloated mess that goes on forever.

Sounds just like the Pirates movies.

Pretty much. I actually find the Pirates movies to be guilty pleasures, but I doubt the formula is going to work again... Especially with a lot of the same names attached. Just another rehash

I thought the trailer looked pretty entertaining. Then I looked at the run time. Why does this have to be 2 1/2 hours long? The Pirates movies are mildly entertaining, but those would be so much better if they tightened them up. No need to be so freakin' long. I'll wait for DVD.
