I've played The Witcher 1 and 2. But neither of those were open world. A lot of the things I've read and seen lead me to believe that this game has taken some inspiration from games like Skyrim and even a bit of Red Dead Redemption. And I know this won't be another Skyrim exactly, but I want a game that sucked me in like Skyrim did. I was so invested in that game and I just want TW3 to offer a similar experience.

The trade off however is just that the story feels so much more tighter and better done than Heavy Rain. HR had plot holes and general senselessness out the ass, despite having much more replay value and branches. If they could meld Beyond's much better storytelling with Heavy Rain's mechanics and replay value then you'd pretty much have the perfect story driven game.

I still need to go back to Beyond and try to wipe up the other trophies though. There's obviously a lot of things I missed out on despite not feeling like my decisions made much of a difference.
Well the game did have a few bullshit and pointless moments which would have been better if they made longer with more things to do such as the first interview and i also felt some of the choice that you made were a little light and forgiving but i felt more of a connection with Jodie than anyone in Heavy Rain, but at the end of the day the two games go hand in hand i just liked Beyond a little better.

I just tripped over a treasure chest, and on my way down, I banged my head on another one.
Too many damn collectables in that game for sure especially when you need to sail from island to island just to grab another chest. Becomes way more of an annoyance over the joy you should have just exploring the world.

And then along came Unity... probably the best overall AC game since AC2 but the collectables, holy shit the collectables.

And thats not even close to everything at once on this map. Seriously Ubisoft?

Witcher 3 is going to be an amazing experience easily spanning 100+ hours. You will definitely get the open world you crave that I see myself spending hours alone just exploring. Biggest plus for W3 is the combat has been overhauled to be easier and more fluid. Almost Batman-esque if you will. Everything about the game just looks fantastic. Only two weeks to go.

No evidence of any tree smash, it might just be the good ole smash against the floor, either way the footage looks badass.

I could see you were really worried about that.

It's likely got way more to it than that. MK games specialize in overkill.

Well feel free to spoil it for me once you've explored it more, and yeah the more we got into the possibilities of what could happen I really did scare myself with the thoughts of random trees sprouting out of the ground.
