I finished reading the Beast House trilogy a few days ago.. I couldn't put them down. I've also read Dark Mountain, which I liked because it went in such a different direction from what I was expecting. I'm currently reading Night in the Lonesome October and going to read Island next.

I read The Traveling Vampire Show first and I was hooked. Then I read Friday Night at Beast House, but without reading the other Beast House books, it didn't have as much of an impact on me as it probably should have had. Then I read A Night in Lonesome October and I thought that one was great. I loved how the end went in such a different direction. I tried The Stake but just couldn't get into it. There are a lot of his books that I would love to read, but my library is lacking.

His books seem to read like adolexcent male fantasy, at least that's how it seems with the ones I've read. Not that I'm complaining. Just something I noticed.

I just recently got in to Laymon and I love his stuff!

So far I've read the first 3 beast house books(Yet to read the fourth), Island and Flesh.

Can anyone recommend me any more good Laymon books to read?

Sorry if this is a necro post, figured I'd just post here instead of making a new thread.

I bought a big collection of Laymon books from ebay a while ago. My favorite so far is Midnight's Lair, its a mix of Hills have eyes and the descent and its fricken awesome.

Whats Island and Flesh like? They came in my collection.

They're both pretty good, especially Flesh. Island I found to drag on at some points but it was still a good read.

I'll definitely check out Midnight's Lair. Than ya

Haven't read his stuff in years(finding so many new authors), but I found Night Show. Hopefully I'll get to it one of these days.

Dark Mountain was the first book I read of Laymon's. I liked it, but I can definitely see how Laymon has a reputation amongst his detractors as writing nothing but trashy pulp novels.

I think after I finish the current book I'm reading, I'll try Night in the Lonesome October or Night Show.

I got 40% into Island and didn't care for it. Not scary or suspenseful at all and all perverted stuff is getting repetitive.
