Thankfully, I own the Criterion disc.

It felt more like a drama mixed with social commentary about war and such, instead of a true horror flick. It did have some creepy scenes near the end, and the oni mask is so fucking boss.

I watched the Masters of Cinema blu-ray of it, which was absolutely gorgeous.

Fully agree.

The mask really gave me the creeps. I wouldn't let watch that film by minors, that's for sure.

I saw the last one today at a video store, I had no idea Englund was in it!!

I remember enjoying the original, though it was years ago.

Always thought the third was the weakest.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey- A bit more lighthearted than LOTR, but in a sort of grim, off-beat fashion, with plenty of jolly decapitations and corpses flying around in wild abandon. Ian Mckellan and Christopher Lee are obviously a decade older, and it appears as if little attempt was made to conceal that fact. I'm thinking maybe Gandalf and Saruman live backwards through time, like Merlin. It was good to see talking trolls, now l would love to see it followed up with a talking dragon...Against my better judgement, l really liked this movie. I can't wait to see more of the Necromancer and The Pale Orc. 8/10

Christopher Lee is almost 100 years old and it's obvious they gave him a CGI make over in this. He looked unnatural.

I hope he will make it to the third installment. So to speak for Ian McKellen. He has cancer and is fighting hard to get rid off it.

I knew something was a little off. I guess thats why he sat so still in that scene, so the green-screen gizmo wouldn't interfere with the computer doo-hickey. Either way, he and Mckellan are two awesome geezers and l love seeing them reprise these roles.

Eraserhead
Lynch's first film revolves around Henry Spencer, who tries to survive his industrial environment, his angry girlfriend, and the unbearable screams of his newly born mutant child.
This movie was one big fucking nightmare, from start to finish. I felt exactly I was into one, it grasps you by the throat and doesn't leave hold of it. Totally surreal, bizarre and often very repulsive and many horror elements too. 100% Lynch.
Don't know how to rate it, but its definitely a movie worth owning. Everybody, who is into horror, should see it.
