how can anyone not think this is going to be a badass film.

the movie original had an NC-17 rating which means an unrated version will be on dvd.

It makes no sense to do a 4th film after the remake comes out. The mainstream audience will be like "Wait a tick...where's Part 2 and 3!?"

Should have done an Evil Dead 4 in the first place. But the remake looks really good so I can't complain.

Unfortunately you're right. Maybe it can be like the Rambo and Fast and the Furious Franchises, where altogether the titles don't make any sense.

Raimi 's probably pissed because the remake is going to show him up. He's too mainstream to do another nasty, gory Evil Dead so he'll just make another jokey, comedic sequel.
