Ozsploitation is very good also, and I love Bad Boy Bubby.. I have the 2 disc dvd set.

To me, Exploitation films died out in '87. Even though you do see a good one here and there(Riki Oh,Death Sentence,Run & Kill,Braindead,Black Dynamite etc.)

For Ozploiation fans, I highly recommend watching the Ozploiation doc Not Quite Hollywood:The Wild, Untold Story Of Ozploiation.

Shit sucks these days. I'm glad to be finding exploit-nuggets here and there at times. My cinematic travels are probably mostly based in Europe lately.

Anyways... a two disc sounds way cool. I only own the original BU release. Gotta look into this. I thought about that film for days after seeing it.

The Female Convict Scorpion series is pretty much a must see for WIP/Exploitation fans. I'll also add this personal fav from the good ol' 80's.....

I'm unsure about WIP flicks as many just look like pornos lol. I trust Jack Hill though so I've ordered The Big Doll House and The Big Bird Cage as my introduction into the genre.

I've also ordered the following blaxploitations; Foxy Brown, Black Caesar, Truck Turner, Shaft, Blacula and Scream Blacula Scream. Got them all dead cheap so I'm pleased with my xmas spending.

Only previously seen The Mack, Coffy and Super Fly but I loved them all, such great fun. The characters, dialogue and story elevate these above typical low budget exploitations and should be appreciated by far more people.

There are quite a few WIP flicks that are basically softcore porn, but The Female Convict Series isn't one of them. It does have some sexy time moments, but never goes into full blown porn mode. Trust me, it's MUST see.

I've watched a few revenge films recently, always been a fan of this sub-genre the primitiveness must appeal to the old reptile brain that lives in the dark recesses.

Just for the sake of it I'll list many I've seen; (assume i mean original)

The Hills have Eyes
Last House on the Left
Hitch Hike
I spit on your Grave
The Night Train Murders aka Late Night Trains
Thriller a Cruel Picture aka They call her one eye
Extremities
La Settima Donna aka Last House on the Beach
Ms. 45
House on the Edge of the Park

Craven is a great writer and Last House is a provocative tale of how revenge is an endless cycle in which we all lose our humanity. Many of the "cash-in" flicks attempted to provide subtext (probably in imitation and probably to avoid censorship) most failed but some remain relevant as revenge is such a timeless theme.

I highly recommend Hitch Hike, it stars Franco Nero, David Hess and Bond Girl Corinne Clery. In my eyes its a total gem and an exploitation with intelligence.

I really got to start watching more of these films.

The 2 that shocked me the most were:

Cannibal Holocaust since the animal death scenes were real, the giant tortoise scene was harsh, today if a bird so much as bent a wing on set there would be public backlash.

Salo is just straight out cruel and sadistic.
