Gangster Squad (2013) - 7.5/10

While it's not the most original or smartest thing ever put to film, it's tons of fun. The acting is all around great, and it's really badass at times.

Don't expect it to be a period piece or something, since it's just a modern day action film set in the past.

Good to hear. I saw what the critics were saying about the writing and shit, but I don't really expect the greatest of screenplays from this anyway. I just want what you just explained, a fun badass gangster flick with a lot of violence. I'm looking forward to it.

It's cliché, over-the-top and gory, but it's a damn good time!

Jack & Diane - The film never seemed to make up its mind what it was or where it was going, and the dialog sounded made up on the spot half the time. - 3/10

Make-out With Violence - So poorly written/acted/directed I couldn't even stomach watching to the end. - 1/10

Gangster Squad - Definitely inspired by L.A. Confidential and The Untouchables, and not in a bad way. It had its flaws - like the godawful prosthetic nose on Sean Penn and Penn giving a less-than-stellar performance, but overall was an enjoyable hardboiled gangster flick. - 8/10

I Spit On Your Grave (Original) - 8/10

Today was the first time I have seen I Spit On Your Grave. I found the first half very difficult to watch and very disturbing. The second half was just pure badass. I found the death scenes, especially the bathroom scene to be very good. The only problems I had with the movie were the woman's ways of luring the men in. I mean given the situation I wouldnt expect her to be cool with what happened to the point where she could convince the men to let their gaurd down (especially Matthew). I mean I have said this before and I will say it again, its a movie, no movie is without flaws. The other problem I had was her going in the church and telling God to forgive her. If I was in her situation and had endured all she had I would probably not really care enough about whether God forgave ne for getting revenge. All in all I quite enjoyed it and it made me get a hint of the original Last House On The Left.

Ted - 7/10 .. Pretty much what I expected. Fun movie.

Hostel - 8/10 .. Good build up/gore .. Fun.
