Definitely a very memorable scene in the movie, people screamed in the theater when that happened. Fantastic scare.

The part when he went into the attic and the door fell behind him made me shit myself. Also when the little girls face popped out as Ellison/Ethan was standing in the hallway. The only thing I wanted more from the film was more of Mr Boogie.
I really hope they do another film. I'd love to see what they could come up with. The music really set the tone all the way through.

I can see them making a sequel for sure, this film only cost 3 million to make and made almost 50 million at the U.S. box office. Huge profit. If they don't go ahead with a sequel, they're crazy!

The movie was pretty dope, and it's good to read through, and see people enjoyed it. Definitely a creepy fucking movie. Sequel time!

Started wonderfully. The home movies were creepy as fuck. Ethan Hawke did an amazing job..Then the children appeared and that's when it lost me. Bughuul was awesome until the end..when you saw him full face.
Not a bad movie. It was a good try. |

I watched this again, knowing full well what to expect during Yard Work, and I STILL jumped like a punk.
If Bravo ever did another "100 Scariest Movie Moments", that one would definitely be high on the list.

This film is kind of in the middle for me.
On one side, the home movies make this film. They're flat-out creepy, unsettling and the soundtrack adds to it. I'll also agree that Yard Work was the best of them, while I'll admit the scare on that wasn't as hard hitting as I thought it would be from reading the comments, it still certainly gave me a good jolt. However on the other side, I particularly didn't care for anything else of the film. While Ethan did do a decent job, I wasn't fond of the exposition. I'll also agree with Wonderlust that Mr. Boogie was great until the end, some creatures are just better left in the shadows or in glimpses. With that said, it's still worth checking out. Gotta' appreciate something that's able to be really creepy and dreadful, that and I will add that the found footage aspect was used better in this film then most films which are entirely found footage.
