Default Kin Dza-Dza! (1986)

Kin Dza-Dza is a film I hold in high regard. Sci-Fi isn't so much my bag, but this goes deeper. There are no special effects to be relied on, no androids or starship battles in space.

Two strangers are accidentally transported to another galaxy and planet. The movie is about their misfortunes and experiences as they try and make it back home.

The planet they are taken to is a desert wasteland, basically, and the population only speaks one word[Kyu!], which applies to everything, with a few exceptions. It makes not much difference for telepaths, anyway.

Kin Dza-Dza! is cult film, if I ever knew of it. Check it out if you've the resources and need a little change in the present-day of cookie-cutter cinema.

One way to make a solid connection to an American immigrant/foreigner is to bring up common ground of their homeland! It never fails, especially when you know your international films from the heydays.

There was a fine-ass Russian guy who was cutting particleboard[chipboard, overseas] for me at Home Depot. I brought up Kin Dza!Dza! and took him totally by surprise. It's a bizarre and feel-good movie. I recommend more people watch it if you can get ahold of it. You know who you are... users here seem to be in 3 divisions, as far as what they mainly enjoy.
