Almost done with A Song of Ice and Fire Book 3- A Storm of Swords

All l can say is...

Thought l was gonna read King's new Dark Tower book next, but George R.R. Martin has me HOOKED on his series, line and fucking sinker!

I agree, from what I understand he wrote it to prove to his daughter that he was capable of writing about more than just monsters and death. I first read it when I was about 12 or 13 and a few years before I read The Stand so it was the first of his books to introduce me to Flagg (when he was introduced in The Stand I immediately went to my book shelf and pulled The Eyes of the Dragon out to make sure I wasn't going crazy) and as my username attests too a life long fan of Randall was born.
