For some reason, I haven't gotten around to playing the first one or any of the DLCs. The second one is one of my favorite FPS-games, and while I wouldn't call it scary, it has some really messed up revelations. I also enjoy the characters and the fantastic gore.
The third lacks the atmosphere, and the horror elements are even weaker.
