did you see the new nightmare on elm st? i did. it wasn't bad at all. i stopped criticizing the remakes because i have realized that these classic icons we have grown up with are like old buddies and even though the best times are over, it is just great to see an old friend again. call me nuts!!

About Me

In 2003, Lauren received her Masters of Arts from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. She studied History and various Fine Arts. This is a long story. She could say "Communications" and be done with it. But it's more complex. The story starts with her vivid memories of seeing "A Nightmare on Elm Street" on HBO around age 6. The image that stuck with her? Nancy running up the stairs...which are a melted marshmallow consistency. What a gorgeous representation of the true horror of a nightmare where you are trying to run but can't, right?! (Not to mention it was scary as hell at age 6.) It's a fact that Lauren adores the horror genre. Thus, her UMKC thesis titled "The Horror Genre".

Lauren is also terrified of zombies. It's not the zombies themselves that are the fear - it's the situation they represent. The decisions that have to be made - who to try to save, or where to go, etc. It's the scariest situation she can imagine!
