I sort of stumbled on him and the album by chance. I subscribed to a vinyl record club called "Vinyl Me, Please" where they pick an album every month and give it a super deluxe, beautiful vinyl pressing with all kinds of custom art and such. So it's basically 1 new record a month and access to their store (which has a ton of other great records for sale). First month I subscribed that was the album and I adore it.

His. His name is Josh Tillman he uses moniker Father John Misty as performer name (sometimes). He was in a great band called Fleet Foxes and is solo now. I recommend a lot of his stuff especially the albums of Fleet Foxes. First FJM album is good but not as good as this one. Im a little bit fried right now so I hope this makes sense

    I'm glad you enjoy it.

But yeah man concerts can be expensive as fuck... especially well known names like Journey. I saw Rush a few weeks ago and tickets were almost $100 a pop.

One of the reasons I like seeing more modern artists at smaller venues is the price. Father John Misty tickets were $22 a piece... Death Grips were $25 a piece. The drive kind of sucks but oh well.

I've been to a bunch of hip-hop and metal concerts and honestly it isn't that bad... venues usually have their shit under control. If places got too out of control they wouldn't be so popular. People are generally good everywhere despite what the news would tell you.

The venue Father John Misty is playing at is one of my favorites. Milwaukee is about a 2 hour drive for me... always worth it. It's a bummer you don't have better opportunities to go to live shows like that. I'm sure someday you will.

I really do love the album. Only song I'm not 100% on is True Affection. I'm going to see him in Milwaukee Sunday night. Excitement.
