Three listens in to TPAB... have no idea what to think but it's growing on me with each listen

first impressions are it's a better overall album than GKMC but lacks individual highlights like Money Trees, Good Kid, and Art of Peer Pressure... only song that has stood out to me so far is u.

Not a complaint tho as I can see myself actually listening to this more. The skits and everything after Maad City really drags GKMC down. Especially Real and those two Dre tracks.

#ghetto summary of my thoughts but that's how I'm feeling now

I mean I really, really want to listen to it right now, and I could get high this second, but I'm resisting. Like, it's all I want right now.

The plan was to not smoke for a week so I want to know I can do that still.

I got as far as King Kunta and stopped. This is definitely a project I need to take in with the right state of mind.

Will 100% listen in full by this Saturday.

    Haha for sure

I'll give it a go tonight. Shouldn't have to be high to appreciate good music.

    Thanks bro

But I had the album within minutes of it dropping on iTunes. The benefit of album hype threads on an active board.

I was just thinking it would be better to listen high for the first time. If it truly is that good I want the first listen to be memorable, you know?

Agreed. If Biggie is considered one of the best after two great albums, I can see Kenny being right there with three. If he died tomorrow he would be a legend. Just look at all these celebrities tweeting about the album lol.

Fuck, might just give in and listen tonight... getting too excited lol

    Awesome, glad you're loving it.

Have literally not heard a bad thing about it yet. Some have reacted more mildly, but the consensus seems to be that it's an extraordinary work. I've only heard The Blacker the Berry and the single version of i once (I hear they use the SNL version for the album) so I'm pretty much going in blind. This is the most hype I've been for a rap album in a long time, and the first I'm going to purchase in a long time too.

Will let you know how I feel when I listen.
