If you're ever in the need for a good laugh

I'm becoming convinced that the people who don't at least like this album haven't actually listened to the thing. If you don't feel the jazz sound and it isn't fun to listen to then fine, whatever. But these complaints I'm hearing are mostly ridiculous.

    Off to listen again

Yeah, how he did this without being preachy or "poor me even though I'm rich and famous" is quite amazing.

It's not even about black empowerment... it's racial empowerment in general. He may not have experienced certain terrible things himself, but growing up (Good Kid, Maad City!) he certainly saw some of those things. And he wants us ALL to be better.

Last rap album to get a ten by Pitchfork was MBDTF, yeah? I think that was #1 on their best albums of the decade list.

I don't know man, if anything deserves it, it's this. Seems right up their alley too.

Pitchfork 10 guaranteed. Not only would it be a very solid album as is regularly, but considering the times we're in with the black killings and what not in the news every damn day, I can easily, easily, easily see this as being considered one of the most important albums in Hip-Hop history for a lot of people.

I saw another person say Kendrick is picking up where Pac left off, and considering the content it's hard to disagree with that. I can't think of any other rapper who's touched on the things Kenny is touching on with such maturity.

It's doing crazy numbers. As far as popularity goes I'd say he's the most famous rapper right now behind Em/Jay/Kanye

Broke the online streaming record or something yesterday and broke his own record he set yesterday today. It's a damn shame that the album was released on a Monday as the cut off is Tuesday... so first week sales is only going to be how much he sold in that one day. Think I read "first week" sales are projected to be 325k

Has a higher Metacritic score than MBDTF right now... and honestly, I ain't even mad!

Were you a big fan of Section 80 or Overly Dedicated? Wonder what your thoughts are on those now that you're becoming a bigger fan

I'm loving it too, I just wish there were a few tracks that I could throw on at random times. One of my favorite things about listening to an album is discovering those types of songs.

I shouldn't even be talking because Hood Politics just came on again and yeah... that could be what I'm describing above lol

    Too early to judge

Three listens in to TPAB... have no idea what to think but it's growing on me with each listen

first impressions are it's a better overall album than GKMC but lacks individual highlights like Money Trees, Good Kid, and Art of Peer Pressure... only song that has stood out to me so far is u.

Not a complaint tho as I can see myself actually listening to this more. The skits and everything after Maad City really drags GKMC down. Especially Real and those two Dre tracks.

#ghetto summary of my thoughts but that's how I'm feeling now

I mean I really, really want to listen to it right now, and I could get high this second, but I'm resisting. Like, it's all I want right now.

The plan was to not smoke for a week so I want to know I can do that still.
