    Have said it a few times, but maybe there is something to the book being an integral part in understanding it. Have seen nothing but love from those who have read it.

    Obv when making an adaption you got to appeal to those who haven't read it, but I'm not quite ready to attack it for being loose and messy (which it 100% is) just yet. PTA is far too good of a filmmaker to have a film be that disjointed unintentionally.

    Tell me how you like it second time. Like y'all were saying last time it popped up in the film thread, it does sacrifice post film resonance in favor of in film intrigue. I've been fascinated with every other PTA film I've seen, yet with Inherent Vice I've been continuously falling out of love with it as time has gone on

    I'll hold out for the 1080... still excited for the re-watch.

    Alright cool, I'll check them out. Had no idea about Alejandro or his films three months ago and now I see there are all these acclaimed films he's done over the last ten years. Always an amazing thing to discover a "new" director with a filmography rich in quality content.
