Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds: Director John Gulager
"This one starts out at the end of Feast 2, obviously. They want to escape out of town, but they end up going into the sewer. So they’re back in the darkness, and kind of crawling toward the city."
By: BC

Splinter: Writer-Director Toby Wilkins
"The Splinter creature was the combined brain-child of myself and my good friend George Cawood, and has been rattling around in both our heads for several years. The basic idea is a creature that takes over your body from the inside, regardless if you are dead, or alive and resisting."
By: MrDisgusting

Train: Writer-Director Gideon Raff
"Special FX was a huge challenge but I had a great crew of people who always came up with creative solutions. Every night after we finished shooting, and every morning before we started, they dragged me to their trailer to show me all the cool stuff they came up with."
By: MrDisgusting

The Mother of Tears: Director Dario Argento
"For the moment, I think I am the only one in Italy doing this kind of thing. Horror films are expensive, because of the special effects, so it’s not so easy to find the money for these films. Distributors look to invest in something simple and easy, a comedy. They don’t have to spend anything, just for the actors."
By: BC

Deadgirl: Star Noah Segan
"The upcoming movies are about as bloody as anyone could expect and emotional, as well. I can't say literally or figuratively but l I've managed to personally be "separated" from many things I "love", in more than one of those flicks. You can definitely read into that."
By: MrDisgusting

Child's Play: Creator Don Mancini
"The documentaries were really good. And I myself, that movie was shot during the writer’s strike in 1988, so I was not on set. So some of that stuff on the documentaries - I had never seen it before! "
By: BC

Sukiyaki Western Django: Director Takashi Miike
"I think American horror is based on a battle between gods and demons, or between ordinary and insane people. Japanese horror is based on the grudge of people whether it’s related to gods or insane people."
By: MrDisgusting

Acolytes (TIFF 08) Director Jon Hewitt
"I like stories to be layered, freaked with subtext. So on the surface ACOLYTES is a chiller - a story of twists, turns, shocks and reveals that inhabits that edgy generic territory found between drama and horror."
By: MrDisgusting

Deadgirl (TIFF 08): Directors Marcel Sarmiento & Gadi Harel
"The bloody horror flick stuff is in there for sure but the story lends itself more to a thriller. There's some awful stuff that happens but it never was a story about a killer with a hook for a hand and a deadly grudge or anything like that. What we loved about the script was that it never went too far into traditional horror movie territory and therefore never really let the audience find a comfort zone."

Exclusive Interview With FX Legend Greg Nicotero
"It is something I have fallen into…..many of the director’s we worked with trust me and know that I will do my best to get our work to look as good as it can on screen….and that has opened a lot of doors….and after doing it more and more you get a flair and a vision for it."
By: MrDisgusting

Pink Eye: Director James Tucker
"Blood, women, good acting and some scares. When we create a horror film, we hope it's a story that viewers enjoy and are drawn into. We get there by making what we would want to see, something different with good acting and a strong story and then we hope for the best."
By: MrDisgusting

The Thaw: Director Mark A. Lewis
"The type you would classify as Sci-Fi Thriller first, Horror second. Like Alien or The Thing. In fact, when looking for inspiration I looked to Star Wars before Saw - though I did peek at the latter a couple times as there were similarities (mostly setting and I needed some ideas for amputating limbs)."
By: MrDisgusting

25/8: Writer-Director Wes Craven at the SDCC '08
"I mean, it just came to me. What I call my shower thoughts. Occasionally I just have an idea, completely like, shampoo in my eyes or something…you just have to jump out of the shower and write it down. It just came to me. I don’t know why, but this guy, this normal guy, has schizophrenia but it’s completely under treatment."
By: MrDisgusting

Knowing: Director Alex Proyas
"It’s a very different film for me because it’s very real. It feels very gritty and real and it’s very naturalistic, and that was really important to me to make it that way. So it’s not really about the visuals and stuff. It’s still about the atmosphere and the emotion, I think more about atmosphere than visuals."
By: MrDisgusting

Friday the 13th: Derek Mears at the San Diego Comic Con
"I really wanted to do my own thing, do what the script was telling me and let that be my blueprint for the character. But then at the very end, sort of like icing on the cake, after a couple of takes I would do things that were like little homages to some of the other actors, as a tribute to them, because they were all great, and I am honored to be among them."
By: BC

Friday the 13th (2009): Andrew Form & Brad Fuller
"Well it’s definitely not a sequel. It’s what we call a reboot of the Friday the 13th franchise. So it would lean more toward a remake but it’s not a remake of Friday the 13th, because we all know Jason is only in the last scene of that movie. He’s definitely the killer in this film."
By: BC

Mirrors: Writer-Director Alex Aja
"That pissed me off so much (laughs)! When I was shooting the movie all these people online were saying “Oh he’s doing this PG-13, sort of Japanese ghost movie, remake whatever.” "
By: BC

Friday the 13th (2009): Star Amanda Righetti
"There is a lake! It wasn’t quite as much as Haunted Hill in that regard, but yes, I do get wet at some point."
By: BC

Dead & Gone: Director Yossi Sasson
"Sometime in 2004, way before the movie was written, I had the feeling that I was ready to direct my first feature. My wife and I decided to put our money where my mouth was so to speak. Harry Shannon and I were talking, and I had an image in my mind. He started to expand that into a story, and things took off."
By: MrDisgusting

The Unborn: Writer-Director David Goyer
"They’ve been great. They’ve had amazing success with their remakes, but they want to branch out and do original films, so I walked in the door at the right time, because this was something totally new and original, and they loved the script; Michael was really supportive. It was just perfect timing."
By: BC

Insanitarium: Writer-Director Jeff Buhler
"Shooting the Maximum Security set was a real high. We built that entire set from scratch in an abandonded wing of this closed down hospital called RFK Memorial down near LAX."
By: MrDisgusting

Quarantine: Exclusive Visit to the Set in Los Angeles!
"So flash to the day of my visit. I’m so excited I leave uber early and end up sitting at Starbucks for an hour sippin on some coffee. The anticipation was killing me, this visit was that motivation and excitement I had been longing for-for quite sometime now."
By: MrDisgusting

Magic Man: Star Alexander Nevsky
"I watched so many of them and still have a lot of new DVDs in my house. The problem is my wife Katya doesn't like them, so now I watch horror films only when she sleeps or if I travel. I like classic George Romero and Wes Craven. Also, one of my favorite Arnold films is "Predator" which I think has a lot of horror stuff there, not only action!"
By: MrDisgusting

Vinyan: Writer-Director Fabrice du Welz
"You have to discover that by yourself. All I can say is that it’s not exactly terror or horror; VINYAN is a strange journey, a baroque opera with an uncomfortable feeling growing, a little bit like CALVAIRE… It’s more an immersion and psychotronic experience than your usual gore flick… You’ll see by yourself."
By: MrDisgusting

Martyrs: Exclusive Chat With Director Pascal Laugier!
"I just would like to tell them that horror is a beauty and I understand their devotion to the genre so well... because I feel the same. I hope my film won't disappoint them. I hope they'll forget everything they've read on MARTYRS before entering the screening room, and that, whatever their opinion of the film is, they'll have the feeling to live a strong and powerful experience. "

The Happening: Cast and Crew Panel Discussion
"When I came up with the idea, I said to the research people, “give me every piece of information. I want to know from 1 to 10 whether this idea is totally, totally possible, probable, or impossible completely."
By: MrDisgusting

The Happening: Director M. Night. Shyamalan
"I don’t know, that’s a good question. Clearly we didn’t know they were going to do that, but I guess it’s just an angle, you know, letting people know the type of movie you’re going to see from me, by using the rating as an expression of tonality."

Death Race Set: Full Report!
"When I was younger and being taken out for a drive, my parents would always joke that if they swerved off-road and hit someone, it would be worth 50 points. At that age, I really had no idea what that meant, aside from the fact that hearing my parents say it made me laugh. Many years later, I finally picked up on the joke after my first viewing of DEATH RACE 2000."
By: David Harley

Death Race Set: Interview with Director Paul W.S. Anderson
"I guess I became involved in it when I saw Death Race 2000 on video when I was young. In England, it was considered like a Video Nasty. It was one of those videos that your parents didn't want you to watch, so of course we all watched it religiously many times."
By: David Harley

Death Race Set: Interview with Star Jason Statham
"Yeah, I was a very miserable bastard around the set. Yeah, take away sugar and you become a bit of a nasty person. Yeah, you know it's a bit of the sacrifice. But for me, it's all part of the job."
