Depravity Knows No Limits As ‘Crossed: Family Values’ Is Announced!
This ought to set the fires under everyone. The most depraved, over the top, sadistic, and just plain morally inept series to ever cross (no pun intended I swear) mainstream comic shelves is returning this May with “CROSSED: FAMILY VALUES”. The Garth Ennis created series “CROSSED” was rewarded with both heavy criticism and a horror comic of the year award upon its initial release, and for a helluva good reason on both ends. This is the sort of stuff your parents warned you about kids. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

“Nothing is sacred as Crossed returns! The horror series of the year returns with a new six-issue series written by David Lapham! Set right at the start of the Crossed outbreak, this tale of depravity promises to shock and disturb you with even more intensity than the first series! The Pratt family lived an idyllic life on a horse ranch in North Carolina. A few generations of family working, living, and learning together. But not all things should be shared with, nor done to, other human beings. Much less your own family. Some men are just born evil, some men are turned Crossed. But which is worse? Imagine, for a moment, the worst crimes against humanity. Picture the cruelest affronts to decency. Conjure your darkest nightmares… and then realize it could all be so much worse. When civilization crumbles in one terrifying moment; when people are gleefully breaking into unthinkable acts of violence all around you; when everyone you love has died screaming in agony: What do you do? There is no help. There is no hope. There is no escape. There are only the Crossed. Crossed: Family Values #1 is available with a Regular cover by Jacen Burrows, a Wraparound cover by series artist Javier Barreno, a Torture cover by Juan Jose Ryp, and a special rare Red Crossed retailer incentive.”

IDW Dark and Paramount Announce New ‘Smile’ and ‘A Quiet Place’ Comic Book Tales
IDW Dark and Paramount recently joined forces to launch limited comic book tales set in the worlds of Smile and A Quiet Place, and we’ve learned today that they’ll continue hanging around in those franchise universes with two brand new limited series tales.
Entertainment Weekly has exclusively revealed this afternoon that IDW Dark’s Any Given Smile debuts in September, while A Quiet Place: Rising Tides arrives in November.
First up, from writer Stephanie Williams and artist Pablo Collar, Any Given Smile puts a football-themed twist on Parker Finn’s successful Smile movie franchise.
The five-part limited series is “set in January 1995, during the American Arena League football championship game in St. Augustine, Florida. The rising superstar of the Sharks, backup quarterback Dupree, is feeling the pressure from his teammates, the fans, and also the city’s gambling underworld, to whom he owes a considerable debt. Meanwhile, a sports journalist investigates a string of suicides that may be connected to the big game. At the very least, they are connected to a sinister entity that preys on the minds of its victims.”
From writer Declan Shalvey and artist Luke Sparrow, A Quiet Place: Rising Tides will also be a five-issue limited story. The comic book tale “brings the creatures to the Florida Keys, where a father-daughter duo attempt to survive on water in a houseboat.”
EW further details, “This tense family reunion coincides with the arrival of the vicious creatures that hunt through sound. Grace and her dad find safety on the open ocean, but she’ll have to make landfall sooner or later; the father’s oxygen tank and their supplies are running low, while a hurricane swiftly approaches.”
