Congrats on becoming a mod, by the way..
They're on tour in Europa right now with Integrity and Coliseum, which would be an amazing tour package. Hopefully they'll stick together for Integ's US tour later this year.
When forever comes crashing is my personal fav. The DVD is a fun time as well.
Also, be sure to check out Swans, if you aren't already familiar with them.
so Titanic as a horror film huh, well it did have DeCrapio so that's reason enough heh
Actually pathetic is a little more accurate.
But good movies aren't for everyone, and it's probably for the best that it stays that way.
After that, they decided to go full on vocal with their other albums and it sucks. Sorry, but Efrim sucks at singing. I hear people say it's an aquirred taste, but I don't think so. Tom Waits vocals is an aquirred taste, if Efrim can get away with singing the way he does, then I am convinced that ANYONE can get away with singing and sounding like complete shit.
That label, Constellation sucks now. They used to be good, but then all the Canadian Sophisticated Hipsters took over and now it's complete shit. Even Do Make Say Think's newer album blows, and I like their first four (their self-titled is the best).
If you're into the earlier releases from Constellation, like GYBE and DMST, then I recommend checking out Fly Pan Am. They're different, but they are fucking awesome (they're really into experimenting with audio frequencies too). I'd recommend picking up N'ecoutez Pas. It has some vocals, but they're so fucking awesome that they can get away with it not tainting the song...unlike every other band on that label.
Hangedup is pretty good too. Incredibly impressive for a duo consisting of drums and viola.
Also if you like the more experimental ensemble, I recommend checking out Set Fire To Flames(side-project of GYBE) and Shalabi Effect, which is more based around using world instruments for a spaced out psychedelic feel. They're both on Alien8, which is into a lot of the same stuff as Constellation, but more on the electronic/avante-garde side.
Maybe the next time I have a sitter for the kids I'll give it a try. I'll let you know how it goes.
So how ya been anyway, Vic? Life been treating you like a redheaded step-child?
That shit is a godsend though. If I can make it past 8pm without pouring alcohol into my face, I will then I pop an Ambien and get a decent night's sleep without all the weird dreams.
Now, what is an Ambi-trip? Enlighten me, oh wise one!
