The original is slow going for the first part, but has really interesting characters(especially Dr. Logan). It's got some great gore too. It's also nothing like the remake.

The remake with Ving Rhames and Mena Suvari, or the 1985 original? The original is my favorite zombie movie ever, but the remake was pretty lackluster.
