News Bites: ‘Dexter’ Clips, ‘Dracula’ Sequel Trailer, Body Count Returns, French ‘Descent 2’ Poster!
We’re back with another quick edition of News Bites, which features the first two clips from the fourth season of “Dexter” (premiering September 27), a trailer for the official “Dracula” sequel, “Dracula: The Undead”, a brand new clip from Pandorum and a brand new edition of Joe Lynch’s “Body Count.” Watch for more if anything new breaks tonight.

Mark your calendars for September 27th as Showtime premieres the 4th season of our favorite serial killer, “Dexter”, which stars Michael C. Hall. Below you’ll find two clips from the first episode entitled “Living the Dream”.

A NEW CLIP FROM PANDORUM
The boys over at Arrowinthehead scored an exclusive clip from Overture’s forthcoming Pandorum, which arrives in theaters next Friday. You can watch another five clips from the film for more.
A young crew member awakes from his hyper sleep chamber to discover he’s alone on a massive spaceship. He ventures towards the bridge in search of others and to try and figure out what happened.
DRACULA: THE UNDEAD TRAILER
Arriving in stores on October 13 is Dacre Stoker and Ian Holt’s “Dracula the Undead,” a sequel to Bram Stoker’s classic tale. Below you’ll find the trailer for the release, along with a synopsis.
“Dracula The Un-Dead is a bone-chilling sequel based on Bram Stoker’s own handwritten notes for characters and plot threads excised from the original edition. Written with the blessing and cooperation of Stoker family members, Dracula The Un-Dead begins in 1912, twenty-five years after Dracula “crumbled into dust.” Van Helsing’s protégé, Dr. Jack Seward, is now a disgraced morphine addict obsessed with stamping out evil across Europe. Meanwhile, an unknowing Quincey Harker, the grown son of Jonathan and Mina, leaves law school for the London stage, only to stumble upon the troubled production of “Dracula,” directed and produced by Bram Stoker himself.
The play plunges Quincey into the world of his parents’ terrible secrets, but before he can confront them he experiences evil in a way he had never imagined. One by one, the band of heroes that defeated Dracula a quarter-century ago is being hunted down. Could it be that Dracula somehow survived their attack and is seeking revenge? Or is their another force at work whose relentless purpose is to destroy anything and anyone associated with Dracula?”

JOHN FALLONS TOPLINES OLD NUMBER 7
Below you’ll find the trailer for Old Number 7, a giallo film that was shot in Barcelona, Spain. It will premiere in competition at this year’s Sitges Film Festival. John Fallon co-wrote it, co-produced and starred in it. Gonzalo Lopez (Embrion) co-wrote, directed and produced the flick.
Roy (John Fallon), a no nonsense kind of guy, arrives from the United States in Barcelona (Spain.) He’s there to confront his wife Mariona (Saida Lamas), who aborted their baby without his consent, and to clear the air with his brother Gonzalo (Sergio Bernal) who has since began an intimate relationship with his wife. Unbeknown to all of them though, there is a ruthless killer at large and powerful supernatural forces looming around them.
OLD NUMBER 7 co stars Sergio Bernal and Saida Lamas.
FRENCH THE DESCENT: PART 2 ONE SHEET
THE DESCENT 2 picks up immediately after the events depicted in THE DESCENT.
Emerging from the cave system alone, distraught and covered in the blood of her missing companions, Sarah is incoherent and half-wild with fear. Sceptical about her account of events and convinced Sarah’s psychosis hides far darker secrets, Sheriff Vaines (Gavan O’Herlihy) doesn’t waste time. Along with his partner Rios (Krysten Cummings), and their cave rescue team Dan (Douglas Hodge), Greg (Joshua Dallas), and Cath (Anna Skellern), Vaines forces Sarah back into the caves to help the rescuers find her friends.

The official Resident Evil trailer has arrived this morning, bringing a closer look at the nonstop survival horror ride filled with references to Capcom’s classic game series and T-virus gore.
Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil opens in theaters and IMAX September 18 from Sony.
The trailer below introduces Austin Abrams (Weapons) as Bryan, a medical courier who unwittingly finds himself in a non-stop race for survival as one fateful, horrifying night collapses around him in chaos.
Cregger directs from a script he co-wrote with Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapters 3 & 4).
The trailer keeps its focus on the central human character arriving amidst an outbreak, revealing very little in the way of its mutated threats. The film’s director previously teased not to expect a zombie-heavy film.
Cregger explains, “This movie doesn’t utilize zombies that much. It’s much more focused on the weird creature stuff than the zombies. There’s really only two scenes, maybe three, where there’s proper zombie stuff going on. And two of those three are in the trailer.”
“But other than that… I wouldn’t call this like a zombie movie,” Cregger previews. “I just feel like, you have this opportunity for the T-Virus to do all these really fascinating things to the human body, and to the world around you, and so to just limit it to zombies feels like a squandered opportunity. So I tried to really vary it up.”
According to the film’s listing on the AMC Theatres website, the runtime for Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil is 1 hour, 35 minutes, making it one of the franchise’s shortest movies.
And we are expecting a very intense, fast-paced 95 minutes from the film.
