Man, you gotta be pleased with the Pats. Rotating new RB's constantly with a rookie QB and they're still a force. That team is just well-prepared. Honestly, I thought the offense would be ok, but I thought the defense would be falling apart by now.
I'm hoping my Bears get Orton back this week or next, we aren't winning shit with Grossman at the wheel. But, even with Grossman in, we came within a TD of beating the Titans which have to be considered a top 3 team, so us Bear fans still have hope.
I can't believe what Boras seems to be able to do. Veritek is the most overrated catcher I've seen in awhile. I can't imagine where he gets the gall to think Veritek should get 10 mill per year, but he seems to get it done. He's going to get Manny 25 mill per year, which is even more ridiculous. You guys made a good long term move getting rid of him. I have a feeling the Dodgers were bidding against nobody. Why would someone want to risk that much money with a headcase like Manny? Amazing.
You'd laugh at my Bond recs since I'm one of probably the only two or three Roger Moore fans in the universe. But I'll try.
My favorite Connery ones: YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE (Bond vs Ninjas!), THUNDERBALL, DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER (mainly for the silly cheese factor)...of course every one else in the world would rec GOLDFINGER & FROM RUSSIA W/LOVE (fucking bandwagon jumpers)l
Lazenby: ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE(I have no fucking idea why people shit on Lazenby & this film. It's good)
Moore: LIVE & LET DIE (one of my top favs), THE MAN W/ THE GOLDEN GUN (another top fav. w/Christopher Lee no less as the villain!)THE SPY WHO LOVED ME (another fav.). The cheese facor of MOONRAKER is exquisite! I have a soft spot for FOR YOUR EYES ONLY too which was the 1st 1 I saw @ the theater as a kid.
The Dalton ones are OK. Dalton was great but the films themselves were pretty weak. Same with the Brosnan ones. Neither actor had material that was up to what they deserved.
IMO there's never been a bad Bond actor, they all have their strengths- I just personally prefer Moore. To me there's something even more perverse about the way Moore can be in life & death situations and can kill someone with such a nonchalant, "whatever" type way and have such a flippant sense of humor about it. The other Bonds seem to barely conceal their "assholeishness" just beneath the surface, but Moore's Bond seems to truly enjoy his job, as if it weren't a job at all-just something he does for fun!
