Originally announced at last year's AFM here is Hugues Sandra Martin's Stranded, which was originally titled "Djinns". Now in post-production, the pic is similar in plot to Alex Turner and Simon Barrett's Red Sands, which recently arrives on DVD from Sony Home Entertainment. In one of our final pieces of AFM news, we caught wind of a new Korean horror film by the name of A Blood Pledge, coming courtesy of Finecut Entertainment (the company behind Chaw). Directed by Jong-yong Lee, and starring Eun-seo SON, Kyoung-ah JANG and Yeon-seo OH, the film follows four girls who make a promise to be with each other at their moment of death. A few weeks back Netflix announced it would be collaborating with renowned horror filmmaker Roger Corman ("Little Shop of Horrors," "Pit and the Pendulum") on a series of Internet Webisodes entitled Splatter, that debuted two days before Halloween. Bankside Films (Coffin Rock, from the producers of Wolf Creek) also has a new horror film in post-production, Colm McCarthy's Outcast, which stars James Nesbitt, Kate Dickie, James Cosmo and Niail Bruton. It tells the tale of Petronella (a Scottish/Romany girl) and Fergal (her mysterious Irish traveller boyfriend). As their doomed relationship plays out, a Beast stalks the estate, killing locals, working its way towards our protagonists. Meanwhile Cathal and Liam, two mysterious travellers from Ireland use ritual and magic on a blood hunt. Mary, Fergal's mother performs ritual and magic of her own. The first is The Caller from director Matthew Parkhill. Penned by Sergio Casci, when troubled divorcee, Mary Kee, begins to receive mysterious phone calls from an unknown caller she quickly begins to feel haunted in her own home. When she discovers that the person is calling from the past, Mary realises that she will have to kill her in order to survive but how do you kill someone living in the past and what will happen if she fails.

While HD Films is working hard to bring us an online Creepshow series (watch the entertaining first episode here), Bloody Disgusting learned that those SOBs at Taurus Entertainment are planning on making another crappy entry in the series, this time in 3D. No other details are know about Creepshow 3D, but this is now being sold instead of a fourth film. Creepshow first graced the screen in 1982 with George A. Romero behind the camera. It features various stories intertwined into one epic movie.
B-D reader 'Piddea' just pointed us to a brand new Swedish horror film entitled Mara, which is said to offer what Let the Right One In, Frostbitten and the other Scandinavian horror movies lacked (that's some big words). In the dark woods of Sweden, five young people are all alone in an old isolated summer cottage. What should have been a nice relaxing weekend soon becomes a living nightmare, as the party is haunted by something evil and terrifying from the past. The movie is starring Swedish model Angelica Jansson and is directed and produced by Fredrik Hedberg, Jacob Kondrup and Ĺke Gustafsson.

US sales company The Little Film Company has picked up sales rights to The Clinic, a low-budget privately-financed debut thriller from Australian director James Rabbitts. New Films has picked up worldwide rights to Deon Taylor's horror pic Chain Letter and will release the film in the U.S. next year. The pic, which is being screened for international buyers at the American Film Market, stars Nikki Reed (Twilight, Twilight Saga: The New Moon), Betsy Russell (Saw franchise) and Brad Dourif (Child's Play). The storyline follows a serial killer who preys on teenagers. His target: Teens who fail to forward a chain letter. New Films considers Chain Letter a pic with franchise possibilities, according to Taylor and the firm's prexy Nesim Hason.
