I didn't really have a pulse on Simon (The Living and the Dead) Rumley's forthcoming genre-blender Red White & Blue until now. I'm a pretty big fan of Mr. Rumley, and I dig the cast (Noah Taylor, Amanda Fuller, Marc Senter), but until now all we had was the following brief synopsis: "The gruesome shadow side of the kindness of strangers. An initially natural portrait of the cool and promiscuous Erica from Austin turns into an intense film of revenge." Now, beyond the break you'll find the first teaser trailer that delivers the goods. Those of you living in Austin, TX can catch the premiere at the SXSW Film Festival this March. You're freakin' lucky. ...Read More

"I'll come back in Ghostbusters III only if I get to be a ghost," Murray told Mail Online confirming that he will in fact be returning (assuming the movie ever gets off the ground). "I said to them, 'I'll do it if you kill me off in the first reel.' So now they are going to have me as a ghost in the film." As reported here on Bloody Disgusting, Ivan Reitman will return to direct with Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver all rumored to be returning. Penned by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, the new flick follows a new breed of Ghost Busters who are passed the torch (one being a female). ...Read More
With the window for DVD/Blu-ray releases shrinking exponentially (it's about to go into negative territory), talk of extra features comes up more and more often at junkets for big studio releases. Such the case with Universal Pictures' The Wolfman. This weekend Bloody Disgusting's Chris Eggertsen caught up with Director Joe Johnston who talked a bit about the "extended cut" - and not "director's cut" - of the remake that arrives in theaters this Friday. Dig on it all below. ...Read More

Bloody Disgusting learned of some kickass casting news for Patrick Lussier's Drive Angry 3D, which is penned by Todd Farmer (MBV:3D). In talks to join Nicolas Cage on a road to revenge are both William Fichtner (Blades of Glory, The Dark Knight, "Prison Break") and the beautiful, wonderful, stupendous Amber Heard (All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, Zombieland, The Stepfather, And Soon the Darkness and John Carpenter's forthcoming The Ward). Amber Heard=scream queen? She's working towards it! Shooting begins in Shreveport, Louisiana this coming March with a February 11, 2011 release locked in place by Summit. The story centers on a man (Cage) driven by rage who is chasing the people who killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby. Received a small tip today that Luís Tossar (although I'm pretty sure they meant Luís Tosar) will be toplining Flatmate for Filmax International. It's a virtual freak show! See the Kraken, the three Blind Witches, Zeus, Pegasus, Scorpioch and many more in 5 brand new character posters for Warner Bros. Pictures' The Clash of the Titans, which is being converted to 3D for its forthcoming April 2 release. I'm pretty sure I'd hang all of these on my walls -- assuming the movie is good. I'll shake my fist towards the sky and blame Zeus if it isn't. ...Read More
The Sundance Film Festival is traditionally a mixed bag, but this year's Park City at Midnight line-up was easily one of the strongest I've ever seen. Almost all of the movies featured were in some way entertaining, and three of the films were downright excellent. Here's how I rank the six horror movies I saw at this year's festival. ...Read More
Overture Films continues to unload The Crazies clipage as beyond the break you'll find a look at a pretty intense scene that takes place in the car wash (it's much more effective than when The Final Destination did it). Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Joe Reegan, Danielle Panabaker, Joe Anderson and Justin Welborn all star. ...Read More
I like Kevin Smith and all, but seriously, this is just f*cking mind-blowing. While out promoting his forthcoming comedy Cop Out the geek cult director went on record about his long-gestured horror flick Red State and how he hopes to get the fans to finance the film. Excuse me? I must be in the "Twilight Zone" because the last time I checked YOU'RE the big time director and we're the ones who have given you a career. Now you want a hand out? What are you? Toyota? Anyways, read on for this ridiculousness. ...Read More
One of the many genre films premiering at next month's SXSW Film Festival is Colm McCarthy's Outcast, a flick we've been following since last year's AFM. It tells the tale of Petronella (a Scottish/Romany girl) and Fergal (her mysterious Irish traveller boyfriend). As their doomed relationship plays out, a Beast stalks the estate, killing locals, working its way towards our protagonists. Meanwhile Cathal and Liam, two mysterious travellers from Ireland use ritual and magic on a blood hunt. Mary, Fergal's mother performs ritual and magic of her own. As Cathal comes face to face with Mary in a vicious finale we know one thing: the Beast must die. Check out some new stills and the official festival one sheet below. ...Read More
Some brief news that doesn't really say a whole lot but makes me feel better about this ridiculous news posted last week. Market Saw is reporting that Warner Bros. is moving forward on Gremlins 3D, which I can't help but scream "bullsh*t" on. Website io9 caught up with Gremlins scribe Chris Columbus who shares the same sentiments. "A few days ago, I saw Steve Spielberg, and I asked him the question you just asked me, because I was reading something on the Internet and he said, "Nobody's talked to me about it either." So maybe it's going on behind our backs?" While I think it's all a load of crap, I personally would LOVE to see a third Gremlins, especially in 3-D. If starting a bunk rumor is what it takes to light a fire under Warner's ass - then be it. ...Read More
