While we haven't really learned much up until now, below you'll find the synopsis and trailer for the flick that doesn't seem to have much of a push (no official website?). That's not all that encouraging. ...Read More

The wait is (supposedly) over come January 1st, 2010 when Paramount rings in the New Year with a new evil child movie. After sitting on the shelf for years now, the studio is hoping to release Case 39, which stars Renee Zellweger (lemons anyone?), Jodelle Ferland (the creepy kid from Silent Hill) and Bradley Cooper (the reason the movie is probably finally getting released - The Hangover). Below you can check out a whole new batch of stills from the film directed by Christian Alvart (Pandorum). It centers on an idealistic social worker (Zellweger) who saves an abused 10-year-old girl from her parents only to discover that things are not as they appear. ...Read More
Still looking for US distribution is the Mo brothers' Macabre, a straight-up Inside rip-off from the same producers. While not quite as good at the French gore-fest, this reverse home invasion flick is brutal and carries more blood than you can even imagine. Today we got our hands on some new one sheets and stills, all of which can be viewed below. Check out our review and watch this spot for distribution news when it comes in. ...Read More
First announced here on BD this past September, beyond the break you'll find a new piece of promo art for Menhaj Huda's Comedown, which begins lensing soon. Also, here's a new short synopsis: The film is set against a contemporary London backdrop of abandonment and decay. While we received a nice tease this past October in the form of this first clip, below you'll find a few new creature pics from Vincenzo Natali's (Cube) latest horror project, Splice, the long delayed sci-fi creature feature starring Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley. We've been asking around like crazy and we've still yet to get any info on a potential US distributor (I just want to freaking see this already!). Is anyone else as excited as I am? ...Read More
To go along with this beauty, Universal Pictures International has released yet another two one sheets for Joe Johnston's The Wolfman remake arriving in theaters February 12. I just finished wiping away the tears of laughter as I just discovered that the Weinstein Company and Dimension Films are planning on remakingThe Amityville Horror...again. Andrew Douglas directed the 2005 reboot produced by Platinum Dunes that grossed over $100m at the box office worldwide. I guess five years in the new 25? Our sources also tell us that there just might be a director already in talks to develop the project. Knowing Dimension Films, I'd expect this project to start and stop at least a dozen times before it ultimately fails. Alas horror fiends, don't stress it no matter how idiotic this sounds. The original 1979 film followed newlyweds as they move into a house where a murder was committed, and experience strange manifestations which drive them away. MGM also retains different rights and were planning on developing The Amityville Tapes, which has been put on the back burner while MGM figures out their financial woes (auction anyone?). ...Read More
Before you head off and enjoy turkey, stuffing and all the pumpkin pie you can eat, why not say a little thanks to Eli Roth for our little holiday treat that we can now mention annually? Beyond the break you can watch Roth's faux trailer for Thanksgiving, a short that was included in Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's Grindhouse back in 2007. Roth has said he'd like to turn this into a feature one of these days; who wouldn't want a new holiday horror film to visit every November? "This holiday season prepared to have the stuffing scared out of you...." ...Read More

I know Sony Screen Gems isn't known for releasing all that great movies, but occasionally one slips through the cracks (Quarantine anyone?). I don't know what it is about Scott Stewart's Legion, but I'm intensely excited for it. Watching the trailer I know I'm not in for a mind-bender, but what it looks like it a cross between Matrix, Constantine and The Crow. Angles, demons, guns and a God who hates mankind. Bring on the blood and action, win-win for all I say. Anyways, Screen Gems released a few new images from the film starring Paul Bettany, Dennis Quaid and Tyrese Gibson, all of which can be viewed beyond the break. The battle begins on January 22, 2010. ...Read More
Update: The film was NOT screened in 3-D. B-D reader Mark G. sent us in an e-mail this evening telling us that he recently attending a special screening of Piranha 3D in Paramus, NJ. While we haven't confirmed the validity of the screening, and we're unsure if it was shown in 3-D, below you can read his thoughts on Alex Aja's latest genre pic, which he describes as " by far the BLOODIEST movie I've ever seen." Count me in! ...Read More

With all of the remakes shrouding the box office, it's nice to see some unique and thought-provoking horror films hitting theaters. Lionsgate is gearing up for their January 8, 2010 release of the long-delayed Daybreakers, Peter and Michael Spierig's sophomore genre effort that follows a race of vampires who have all but wiped out the world's blood supply. Interesting premise, no? Check out the second full trailer by reading on. ...Read More
Bloody Disgusting got their hands on the first official image from Warner Bros. Pictures' comic adaptation of Jonah Hex, which was directed by Jimmy Hayward and stars Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Megan Fox, Will Arnett and Michael Shannon. Hex, known for having the right side of his face disfigured and wearing a Confederate army uniform, was a rough-and-tumble gunslinger and part-time bounty hunter whose adventures always ended in blood. He first appeared in the early 1970s in the issues of "All-Star Western" before graduating to his own series in 1977 that ran for about 10 years. A new series was launched in 2005. The character also had a run in the 1990s that combined the Western genre with supernatural elements. ...Read More
I wasn't all that impressed with the first one sheets for Universal Pictures' The Wolfman remake. I don't think they're bad necessarily, but they didn't get my adrenaline pumping like the one you'll find beyond the break. The new poster features Benicio Del Toro howling at the moon in a stylish, action-packed image. What do you think? Directed by Joe Johnston, like the 1941 original that starred Lon Chaney Jr., new pic arriving in theaters February 12 will be set in Victorian England. Benicio Del Toro will play a man who returns from America to his ancestral homeland, gets bitten by a werewolf and begins a hairy moonlight existence. ...Read More
Now this is fun, and I give props to star Milla Jovovich who is showing genuine enthusiasm for her role of Alice in Screen Gems' forthcoming Resident Evil: Afterlife. Maybe it's because she's working with her husband, director Paul W.S. Anderson, or maybe it's all a ruse, either way I find her Twittering exciting and a taste of what's to come. Below you'll find her third behind-the-scenes video, this time teasing an airplane graveyard in the 3-D pic arriving in theaters August 27. While production winds down in Toronto, hopefully we'll see more of this in the future. ...Read More
