The South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival has unveiled its completed features lineup — consisting of 130 films — for the festival on March 9 – 17 in Austin.

Included as part of “Emerging Visions” is the Irish Dollhouse, which comes from writer/director Kirsten Sheridan. “ Five street teens break into a house in a rich Dublin suburb for a night of partying. But games are twisted into something more emotional and ultimately out of control through a series of surprising revelations. It will be the North American premiere.

And while we wait for the genre selections to be announced, a few “Festival Favorites” return to the rounds. They include Blair Witch director Eduardo Sanchez’s Lovely Molly (review), which preemed at last September’s TIFF. “Exploring the parallels between psychosis, addiction and demonic possession, Lovely Molly tells the story of what really happens before the exorcist arrives.

Gareth Huw Evans’ explosively violent The Raid (review) kicks SXSW in the teeth. “ Rama and his special forces team fight their way through a rundown apartment block with a mission to remove its owner, a notorious drug lord.

Lastly, Bobcat Goldthwait’s less-than-stellar God Bless America will have its U.S. premiere. “Loveless, jobless, possibly terminally ill, Frank has had enough of the downward spiral of America. With nothing left to lose, Frank takes his gun and offs the stupidest, cruelest, and most repellent members of society.

Dan Stevens is everywhere lately, from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire to Abigail and the upcoming Cuckoo. We’re not complaining. Up next? He’s starring in horror movie The Ritual.

Al Pacino and Dan Stevens have both joined the cast of the upcoming exorcism horror movie from XYZ Films and director David Midell, Variety reports this afternoon.

Based on a true story, the film “follows two priests — one questioning his faith (Stevens) and one reckoning with a troubled past (Pacino) — who must put aside their differences to save a possessed young woman through a difficult and dangerous series of exorcisms.”

Variety details, “The film is an authentic portrayal of Emma Schmidt, an American woman whose demonic possession culminated in harrowing exorcisms. Her case remains the most thoroughly documented exorcism in American history.”

David Midell and Enrico Natale wrote the screenplay for The Ritual.

XYZ Films is planning to release the horror film theatrically in 2025.
