Just got word from one of B-D’s own who attended a very special midnight screening of Freaked at the New Beverly in Los Angeles where actor-turned-director Alex Winter was on hand and confirmed that he will in fact be directing a 3-D reboot of The Gate and that the film is currently in pre-production. “I can’t wait to hurl shit at the audience in 3-D!,” he exclaimed. But the real news came later where Winter, the star of The Lost Boys and the Bill and Ted movies, revealed that he hopes to have Stephen Dorff play the father in the updated version. In the original Dorff played one of three young children who accidentally release a horde of nasty, pint-sized demons from a hole in a suburban backyard..
