Sundance ’10: Vincenzo Natali Talks ‘Splice’ With BD
Last week BD’s Chris Eggertsen had the chance to speak with Vincenzo Natali, the writer/director of the new film Splice which was executive-produced by Guillermo del Toro and debuts State-side this week in the Midnight screening series at the Sundance Film Festival. During our lengthy conversation, he was able to pick the director’s brain about his new movie, including that much-talked about human/hybrid sex scene, the numerous challenges he’s faced in making the controversial film, and possible sequel potential down the road. He also expounded a bit on his lukewarm/negative feelings towards the two Cube sequels, and how he would treat the Splice property differently if he had the opportunity to direct further entries in the series. He also gave a shout out to Bloody-Disgusting, saying he’s a “huge fan” of the site. Thanks, Vincenzo!
