‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ Gets High Def Blu-ray Release

Published

Thanks to a different distributor in Canada, Bloody Disgusting already has their hands on a Blu-ray copy of Wes Craven’s original A Nightmare on Elm Street. To this day I stand my ground in saying it’s one of the best hi-def transfers to date. For those of you in the States, Warner Home Video has announced an April 6 release for their Blu-ray release, but we’re not sure if their transfer will differ (if it does, go buy the bare bones from Canada). Beyond the break you’ll find the cover art and full specs for Warner’s release.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.

If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
