DVD Cover Art For ‘Messengers 2: The Scarecrow’

Published

on

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced Messengers 2: The Scarecrow (trailer) which stars Norman Reedus, Heather Stephens, and Richard Riehle. The Martin Barnewitz directed prequel will be available to own on July 21, and should retail at around $24.96. DVD Active reports that the film itself will be presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. As far as we know, the only extra material will be an audio commentary with Director Martin Barnewitz and Writer Todd Farmer. Below you’ll find the trade advertisement featuring your first look at the official package artwork. This prequel goes back to the farm from the first film to finally learn the story of John Rollins – the simple North Dakota farmer, struggling to save his farm and hold his family together. When he places a mysterious scarecrow in his field his luck changes for the better… but it may be at the cost of his sanity.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.

If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
