TV: Looking Ahead To Season 3, Michael Rooker Returning To “The Walking Dead”

Published

Tonight is the last new episode of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” that you’re going to see for quite some time. But if you’re looking for tidbits to keep you satiated in those lean months unto the premiere of Season 3, here’s one. Michael Rooker (Slither, Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer) will be reprising his role as Merle. During a “Lollipop Chainsaw” panel at Wondercon yesterday the actor revealed he’d lost 20 pounds for the role – which is something you’re not like to do for a cameo so this indicates he’ll be in at least a few episodes.

“The Walking Dead” tells the story of the weeks and months that follow a pandemic zombie apocalypse. County Sheriff Rick Grimes travels with his family and a small group of survivors, constantly in search of a safe and secure home. But the constant pressure of fighting off death on a daily basis takes a heavy toll, sending many to the lowest depths of human cruelty. As Rick struggles to keep his family alive, he will discover that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be far more dangerous than the mindless walkers roaming the earth.

The season finale, “Beside The Dying Fire” airs tonight. What do you think is going to happen? What do you want to happen? Head inside for a preview.

John Lee (False Positive) will direct Mountain Man from a script by Matt Deller.

“John is a brilliant creative mind. We’ve been looking for the right thing to do together since we filmed Pee Wee’s Big Holiday and it’s finally here,” 3:59’s Joe and Nick Manganiello told Deadline. “Very excited to get to work on such weird, wild project with him.”

Film Bridge International is launching sales on the project in Cannes.
