Thumbs up The Gift (2000)

Info: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1103231-gift/about.php

An underrated psychological drama/thriller with an interesting plot and excellent performances by the A list cast. I saw this film way back on summer 2001 and I just bought it and saw it again. I always like the atmosphere of horror films that take place in the south of U.S. because is very different from the others. Cate Blanchett is excellent and very likeable. Giovanni Ribisi's plays a mentally troubled auto mechanic and as usual this guy always plays a weirdo in films. Katie Holme's acting sucks in this film, well I've always found her to be annoying and the only good thing to come out of "Dawson's Creek" is Michelle Williams and if you don't believe me go watch "Brokaback Mountain". Anyways, has anyone else seen this film?

I like the film. A lot. I watch it every couple of months... Keanu is great as a bad guy and I thought the cast bar Kate Holmes were great Simply great!

It was okay. Not great, but decent. Katie Holmes was spectacular.

I also saw and enjoyed this film during its initial theatrical release. Wonderful ensemble cast, Sam Raimi even coaxed a good performance from Keanu Reeves! Raimi claims the house he slept in during production was haunted.

I didn't think it was one of Raimi's finest works. it fell into the average pile, for me.

I was a bit shocked by how much I liked this one. One of the few movies where I thought Keanu Reeves could actually act.

I know... Keanu should take more roles like this... although I look forward to A Scanner Darkly
