Default The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)

I remember watching this movie for the first time about 4 years ago. I didn't like it at all.

Then last night, when I didn't have anything better to do, I decided to give it a second chance and I absolutely fell in love with it.

What a fantastic flick.

Gene Hackman, Gwyneth Palthrow and Bill Murray are all, of course, brilliant in this. But even the actors who often aren't remembered for their great performances (Stiller, and the Owen brothers) are absolutely superb in the way they protray their characters.

I really can't put my finger on anything bad. It's a perfect little movie.

Anyone else love this?

Puts me to sleep. I like pretty much everything else Anderson does.

i love love LOVE this movie! One of my all-time faves. I recommend this movie to everyone. it really is perfect imo. I love all the performances and the dialogue. And this might be the only movie i think Ben Stiller did a great job acting.

one of my fave quotes from the movie:

Royal: Richie, this illness, this closeness to death... it's had a profound affect on me. I feel like a different person, I really do.
Richie: Dad, you were never dying.
Royal: ...but I'm gonna live.

I love all Wes Anderson Films...
they make me happy for some strange reason.

Especially Life Aquatic.

Yeah, that one is pretty rad too. "Don't hurt him, he's an unpaid intern."

Good stuff.

That movie is visually beautiful (especially the underwater scenes). The Portuguese David Bowie songs are cool too.
