Default Fight Club - 10 years later

So the other night I watched Fight Club... probably for the 20th time and like every time I'm amazed by how awesome this movie is. I also just realized it's been 10 years since the movie came out.

I was 15 when the the movie was released in theaters. It was also the first R rated movie I snuck into. *Not the first R movie I've seen, just the first one I had to sneak into to see at a theater.

Talk about an eye opening experience. It was the first time I was introduced to nihilism and the first time I realized about the evils of modern man's world. It was such a huge paradigm shift for me that I must say it was probably the most influential film I saw growing up.

I even got into reading after this film. Read every Chuck Palahniuk. Got into politics and became more involved with what is happening in our world with corporations and governments.

So I just wanted to take a few paragraphs to reflect on how amazing Fight Club was/is... and hope this movie has influence others in the same way. Still can't believe it's been 10 years!

I agree. Fight Club was very influential for me. It's one of the big reasons that I wanted to start making movies (alongside Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, which is another brilliant film). It introduced me to Palahniuk as well and now I have all of his books. It's a great film and I hope they release a special 10 year anniversary edition DVD or at the very least re release that special edition DVD because I would love to have it.

Agreed, I was blown away when I first saw it and make sure I watch it at least 2-3 times a year

Most movies with a twist like that doesnt hold up on multiple viewings as the surprise has been spoiled, but this is one of those that holds up wondefully, reguardless of number of viewings.

Congrats for making a difference too!

first time I saw it I was like 10... So I didn't get a lot of the humor. But today, it's one of my favorites.

Yea.. this movie is by far one of my favorite movies. I actually regret not seeing it so much sooner than I did. Is it sick that I know like.. all the words? I don't care.. I love it so much. The music in it is perfect. And I've always like reading, but now I loveee Chuck Palahniuk's books. Although I don't typically like Brad Pitt as an actor, he did a great job. And after seeing Fight Club and American History X in the same week, I definitely have new found respect for Edward Norton. He's now probably one of my favorite actors.. I never really noticed his talent beforehand.

Fantastic film and always will be. Everything about it is perfect. The acting, directing, script and the message combine to make a dynamite explosion of a movie.

Hell yes Fight Club is the best. Dark comedy/drama, nihilism, satire, social commentary..... so many uncomfortable truths in this movie.

My favourite line is: "The things you own end up owning you"
